Building a Homemade Oven
A homemade oven using a stand up locker lined with wool insulation or Air Conditioning duckboard (foil side inside). A large electric range top coil ($25.00) placed in the bottom of the locker makes a perfect heat source. A universal 120/220 thermostat ($75.00 at appliance parts house) for controlling oven temperature works great. A small fan ($15.00 at WW Grainger), mounted in the top of the oven with the motor on the outside and six inch blades surrounded by a metal can, with both ends cut out, on the inside give you the inside air circulation you will need. Pieces of one quarter inch gas welding rod pushed through the sides make excellent hangers. It take approximately 10 minutes for the cabinet to reach 200 degrees. While you are blasting the parts let the oven heat up.
Materials to build an oven:
Your local Home Depot, Builders Square, Academy, local hardware store, and local appliance supply for the
universal thermostat control.
