Application of Bullet Kote
APPLICATION: BULLET KOTE (Click Tip Sheet for further instructions on coatings bullets)
Unlike other Moly Bullet coatings. KG Bullet Kote does not need to be pounded by steel beads to get the maximum effectiveness. Nor does it take hours to complete the process and its not as messy.
Parts are first stripped and cleaned of any oil or grease. Preheat unloaded rounds to be coated to about 120 to 150 degrees F. When handling parts, use a pair of clean surgical gloves to insure you do not leave any finger prints which will affect the bonding of the material to the metal. Using a good quality air gun, or our Badger Spray Gun, spray in light fog passes 6 to 8 inches away from the part you are coating and spray from different directions to assure complete coverage. (you can also use a dip process if you do not have a spray gun). The ideal coating thickness is .0002.
Baking Bullets: (Caution, never place a pre-loaded round in an oven to bake.) After allowing the coating to dry place the coated rounds in a tray in an air circulating oven and bake for at least 1 hour at 325 degrees F.
